Olav E. Fiskerstrand AS enters the 2026 mackerel season with optimism despite significantly reduced Norwegian mackerel quotas. The company's goal remains unchanged: to secure as much high-quality mackerel as possible for its customers throughout the season.

The start of the mackerel season marks one of the most important periods of the year for Norway's pelagic seafood industry. At Olav E. Fiskerstrand AS, expectations remain high, even though this year's season will be characterized by lower catch volumes than in previous years.

The reduced quotas mean that less mackerel will be landed overall, creating greater challenges throughout the value chain—from the fishing fleet at sea to processing and logistics onshore.

Despite the reduced quotas, Olav E. Fiskerstrand AS remains confident. The company's ambition is to receive as much of the available catch as possible and ensure efficient processing and reliable deliveries to customers in Norway and international markets.

At the same time, the company emphasizes the importance of responsible fisheries management.
